Michael D. Lee finished their Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. With focuses on M own queer journey, M correlates their own experience with the LGBT History and Movement. After completing their Bachelor of Science at Bowling Green State University in Ohio M attended the Joe Goode workshop in 2011, and participated in an internship with the Mam-Luft & Co. Dance Company. While at Graduate School, Michael was able to become a Teaching Assistant for the school and received a Summer Assistance Fund to attend the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project's summer Intensive of 2014. Lastly M received funding for their M.F.A. Thesis by two groups: The Kristina Larson Fund and The Women and Gender Studies Cone Award Special Projects Grant. Big thanks to all those involved in creating this Concert and funding it so that it is free to the public.
Michael now lives in Oakland, CA pursuing their dream of dancing with a company. M wishes to gain more experience by involving themselves in the community both creativity through dancing and choreographing. Michael currently dances for Slick Babble and works for Dancers' Group.
